Choose a BPM and start!

How to Play

  1. Choose one of 5 BPM (tempo) levels. A 3-second countdown begins the test.
  2. Listen carefully to the 4 metronome beats and memorize the rhythm.
  3. After the metronome stops, tap 8 times (click / Space / Enter) at the same tempo.
  4. Your deviation from the expected timing (in ms) is shown for each tap.
  5. Your score (0–100) is calculated from the average deviation. Lower deviation = higher score.

Level Guide

Levels are based on average deviation (ms). Score = 100 − avg deviation.

About the Rhythm Accuracy Test

The Rhythm Accuracy Test measures your ability to maintain a consistent tempo. After hearing 4 metronome beats, you tap 8 times at the same pace. Each tap's deviation from the expected timing is measured in milliseconds. A lower average deviation indicates stronger rhythmic ability.

Rhythm in Gaming & Music

In rhythm games, timing accuracy directly impacts your score. In competitive gaming and esports, maintaining consistent timing for strafing, peeking, and ability usage can provide a real advantage. This test helps quantify that innate sense of timing.

Tips to Improve

  • Use your whole body: Nod or tap your foot while counting to stabilize your internal clock.
  • Start slow: Master 70 BPM before moving to faster tempos.
  • Practice with a metronome: Regular clapping exercises with a metronome app build muscle memory.
  • Stay relaxed: Tension disrupts timing. Tap naturally and smoothly.

FAQ

Q: Which BPM should I start with?
A: Start with "Normal" (100 BPM). Once comfortable, try other tempos.
Q: How is the score calculated?
A: Score = 100 − average deviation (ms). For example, 15ms avg deviation = 85 points. Perfect rhythm (0ms) = 100 points.
Q: What happens if I don't tap?
A: After a timeout (3× interval), a miss is recorded with the maximum deviation.
